Compline cards

We’ve been having sung Compline on the first and third Monday of the month at St Andrew’s since September.

I wanted to be able to give people something to take with them: something to help them pray during the week, perhaps, but also to stick on their refrigerator/corkboard/whatever to remind them about when the next services are. I didn’t want to just give them a pew slip from the day before, but I also don’t want to produce a new document for every service. So I threw together a little two-column leaflet that can be printed double-sided on card.

Here is the Compline prayer card for November and December, if you want to have some idea of what I mean. The previous one didn’t have the various Christmas services on it, and had more information in the contact details (hall hire and organist were both listed), and a brief blurb about Café Refresh, our community café.

The next service of Compline at St Andrew’s will be tonight at 9.30pm. All are welcome. Please arrive quietly, and depart in silence.

  1. I love the compline cards! Doing compline (at home) felt a bit strange at first, but the whole thing has grown on me.
